Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 8, 2026

1. Overview

Questrr ("we", "our", or "us") operates a real-time gamified social application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and security. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and disclose information from users ("you") who access our application or website.

2. Information We Collect

We collect different types of data depending on how you interact with the Service:

A. Account & Auth Information: If you sign in via Google Authentication, we collect your profile details, including your email address, full name, and profile picture URL. This data is managed through Google Firebase Auth.

B. User-Generated Content (UGC): We collect the text messages, emojis, custom quest definitions, score completions, and photo proofs you submit to the squad chat. These are stored in Firebase Firestore to coordinate real-time syncing.

C. Guest Credentials: If you sign in as a Guest, we do not require email credentials. An anonymous locally generated ID and customized username are stored directly inside your browser's local storage.

D. Caches & Preferences: We use local storage to store active settings, passcodes, and app configurations on your browser.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Operate and maintain the multiplayer gameplay.
  • Synchronize lists, chats, and leaderboard rankings across squad member screens.
  • Verify real-life quest completions using submitted photo proofs.
  • Authenticate guest and Google accounts securely.
  • Moderate squad content and enforce safety protocols using custom filters.

4. Data Storage, Security & Subprocessors

Your data is stored and synced using Google Firebase services (Firestore database, Firebase Storage, and Authentication). Firebase employs industry-standard security practices, access control rules, and encryption technologies to secure your account details and game uploads. However, no database is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. How Data is Shared

We do not sell, distribute, or rent your personal information to third parties.

Your data is only shared with other users who belong to the same **Squad** as you. Squad members can see your points, active quests, messages, camera photo proofs, and online status. If your squad settings are public, other users who search for your squad code can request to join and see this data. Private squads are strictly restricted to invited members.

delete 6. Your Rights and Data Deletion

You have full control over your data in Questrr. You can exercise the following rights directly inside the app:

  • Delete Squads: Admins can delete their squads, which permanently removes all associated chats, quests, scores, and photo links from the Firestore database.
  • Account Deletion: If you wish to delete your Google Auth data, account details, or specific chat content entirely from our Firebase databases, you can email your request to our support team at privacy@questrr.org, and we will purge the records within 30 days.

7. Local Storage and Cookies

Questrr does not use tracking cookies for advertising. We use browser Local Storage to handle guest logins, access codes, and session details, allowing you to reload the application without losing your progress.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such data from our systems.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
